Scentsy Review: Company and Product Overview

The Scentsy company was founded in 2004 and is based in Idaho. The company is owned by Orville Thompson. He purchased the company in 2004 from the inventors of the wickless candle, which is Scentsy’s core product. The idea of the wickless candle is to replace an open flame candle with a safer and better smelling candle powered with either 15 or 25 watt light bulbs.

I’ve personally smelled these Scentsy candles and I have to admit they smell really good. I don’t know that I can tell you that they smell better than regular candles though. It’s a close call for me but there’s also the safety factor. I don’t think these wickless candles will burn your house down!

All of the Scentsy candles come in decorative bases. The mission statement of the company is to bring value to the world by providing an industry leading, family-friendly business opportunity selling creative, artistic, high-quality products that warm the heart, enliven the senses, and inspire the soul.

Scentsy Review: The Business Opportunity

The Scentsy candle parties, whether you know it or not, are being held by MLM distributors of the company. I write this sentence because I’m not even sure the people holding the parties understand that they are in an MLM business opportunity! I know people who have gone to candle parties and they haven’t been approached to become distributors. Let’s face it, if you don’t recruit other distributors and build your organization, you won’t make much money selling candles.

The problem I see with many of the “Party” MLMs is that they are fun and people get involved to hold parties and sell cool products to their friends. They lose sight of the business model and the money. The MLM business model is designed to pay relatively small product sale commissions and reward the people who build themselves an army of distributors. Would you rather earn a few dollars selling candles or hundreds or even thousands of dollars per month because you have a team of people holding parties every week?

The problem for most when they get involved with an MLM, is they are taught to approach their friends and family and that’s where the “marketing plan” ends. Viridian Energy Reviews: The Company Overview

Viridian Energy was founded in 2009 in Norwalk, Connecticut. I used to live in Norwalk and it’s not exactly an MLM corporate hotbed so I found this interesting. The Founder and CEO is Michael Fallquist. I didn’t find any negative information while doing a quick Google search which is a good sign. As is the case with any company, ultimately it’s the leadership that will create the success or failure of the business and Viridian appears to have strong leadership at the corporate level.

The mission of the company is to provide greener electricity at an affordable price, allowing our customers and independent Associates to make a difference in the environment and their personal lives simply by switching energy providers.

Spending my life in the network marketing arena, the “greener” electricity element is Viridian’s unique selling proposition and sets them apart from industry leader Ambit Energy. Ambit seems to be the most popular of the energy MLMs at this time.

Viridian Energy Reviews: The Business Opportunity

Part of the recruiting effort in the MLM energy niche is the talk about energy deregulation. This talk has been going on for a long time without much movement on a national level. There are only a few states that have absolute deregulation and some have been this way for years. While everyone likes to save money, switching their energy supplier is just not something on the top of people’s minds. That’s where MLM comes in but you really need a motivated sales force (YES, I said “Sales!) to get the word out about Viridian and the other energy MLMs.

While you can make money just by switching people’s energy over to Viridian (you’ll receive a percentage of the monthly bill of everyone you sign up), the real money is made by recruiting a team of distributors. This way you can leverage the work of others to really build a nice residual income. Where I see people stray off this path is when they think they are “energy consultants” rather than MLM reps. They get caught up in selling energy rather than recruiting other people and struggle to make any decent income.

To summarize this Viridian Energy Review, I would say that Viridian offers potential to earn an income. I think the state limitation holds them back, along with the other energy companies, from being able to grow as much as they would like. That being said, there are reps in Viridian Energy making really good income. They are the ones who have either been involved in MLM for a long time and have connections OR they learned how to effectively market their business.

Building an MLM is a process. You first need to generate traffic, then leads, then relationships, then sign-ups. It’s a simple process BUT it’s not easy. If you never learn how to drive traffic to your website, you will struggle with your Viridian business or any other MLM you get involved with. It’s really that simple.

While I agree that you should do your due diligence and read as many ACN Reviews as you can find, you need to know that this review is completely unbiased as I am not a distributor with ACN. I’ll share with you the details about the company as well as how you can get paid PLUS a very important aspect of building a home business that is absolutely essential to your success whether you join ACN or any other MLM.

ACN Reviews: The Company

ACN, which began operation in 1993, is (according to their website) the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications services, currently operating in 23 countries. The products include phone, internet, wireless, television, and other related telecommunications products. This is a hyper-competitive niche so being large and having been in business for over 20 years is certainly a positive when it comes to company stability.

The way ACN has grown is through a distribution network of people like you and me. Network marketers selling the products or opportunity direct to consumer rather than more traditional marketing methods. This strategy has worked well for ACN over the years.

ACN Reviews: How To Get Paid

The ACN compensation plan, similar to most MLMs, will pay you commissions for customer acquisition as well as growing your distributor network. Not uncommon, the big earners in ACN focus on building the MLM side of their business rather than focusing on acquiring customers. Technically, each distributor is also a customer since you’ll be purchasing product when you start your ACN business.

If you’re serious about building a full-time income from home with ACN, you’ll want to start at the $499 level. You can also get started as a customer acquisition rep for $99 but your commissions will be more limited than if you get started at the top level. I see many people who have dreams of working from home mess up this step. They tend to get started at the lowest cost possible when you really need to start any MLM at the highest start-up level possible to maximize the compensation plan. Don’t make this mistake!

ACN Reviews: How To Build Your Business

If you choose to start your own ACN business, it’s very important that you learn how to market it. So many people get involved in a home business with no marketing plan. They are told that they can build their organization simply by approaching their friends and family and this will be their ticket to wealth. This could not be farther from the truth. Nobody knows enough people that will be interested in starting a home business to become successful. You will need to go outside your warm market if you plan to earn a full-time income with your ACN business. If you learn cutting edge marketing strategies that work, and treat your ACN business like a business and not a hobby, then you definitely have a chance of achieving financial freedom with ACN.

Call MD Plus Review: Company Overview

Call MD Plus is not a scam. They are the network marketing arm of 6 year old company named “Call MD”, a telemedicine company. Telemedicine is an emerging industry according to Yale University and basically provides customers with a medical concierge desk. What this means is that subscribers have access to trained medical nurses and doctors to diagnose their medical condition. It’s a fact that the majority of medical issues can be successfully diagnosed over the phone, saving money on doctor’s office and emergency room visits. Prescriptions can be written by the participating doctors.

The business model is unique and basically takes PrePaid Legal’s model to the healthcare industry. We all know that healthcare in the US is a mess and Call MD Plus is positioned to help.

The Chairman of Call MD Plus is Rowland Hanson, who has a track record of major successes in business which bodes very well for the company and their longevity. From a network marketing standpoint, since most start-ups fail within their first 3 years, the fact that Call MD has been in business for 6 years already is a major positive.

Call MD Plus Review: How Do You Make Money?

This is where the rubber always meets the road in my opinion, and Call MD Plus doesn’t disappoint. It’s a coded bonus unilevel comp plan that pays good upfront commissions in addition to residuals. You can take a look at the entire compensation plan here: CallMD Plus Compensation Plan.

Bottom line, my experience has shown that you need to have good size fast-start bonuses to help cover monthly auto-ship costs and curb attrition. Then, the coded bonus program is where the really big money will be made (similar to Numis Network).

Call MD Plus Review Summary

Not everyone likes start-ups, but I do as I believe they present a greater opportunity for massive success for the average person. The fact that Call MD Plus is an MLM start-up but not a true start-up makes it tremendously appealing for anyone willing to take the “risk”. Now, we’re all entrepreneurs which entails risk taking to begin with so I don’t personally see the “start-up” aspect as a risk. Call MD Plus is definitely a business worth taking a look at.

Now, to be successful with any MLM and Call MD Plus is no different, you will need to recruit other people to make money. You will get paid both for customers or distributors you bring in to the business but you will need to market. If you are willing to learn how to market your business (training and support is provided), the opportunity with Call MD Plus and MLM in general is limitless.

There are a few “coffee” MLMs out there like Organo Gold (Click To Read Our Organo Gold Review and JavaFit. Javita Coffee is set to launch on June 1, 2011 and I’ve been seeing a lot of activity online about it and thought I’d do some digging so I could provide my readers with a completely unbiased Coffee Home Business Review. This way you’ll be able to make an solid and educated decision whether or not you can make money in the coffee business.

First of all, I’ll say that Javita Coffee is currently in pre-launch. This means that people are able to join for free right now. That’s what’s causing a lot of the activity. The flagship product is of course coffee…an Organic South American blend with proprietary herbs. Probably a good tasting coffee (as I sit here drinking Maxwell House lol!). Coffee is a consumable that is drank daily by millions throughout the world. But how much are people willing to pay for their coffee fix?

A distributor can join at 2 levels – $99 and $599. The big money will be made only by people who join at the $599 level, because that will qualify you for bonuses not available to the $99 level distributors. That being said, based on experience it’s a safe assumption that most distributors will sign up at the $99 level.

Javita has a goal of creating 1,000 6-Figure Earners and 10 Millionaires by the end of 2012. Assuming Nostradamus is not correct and we survive past 2012, I think these stated goals are still a bit aggressive. MLM comp plans are back-loaded, meaning that you get paid a little for each sign-up and your income builds over time as your organization builds. An industry assumption would be that each distributor in YOUR organization will generate you $1 of income per month. That means you need about 8500 people in your organization to reach 6-figures. I’m not sure 1000 people will be able to do that. Time will tell.

Javita MLM Review: The Bottom Line

Pre-Launches can be risky but exciting. Javita does not appear to be a scam, considering ownership has experience running an MLM that has no issues that I’m aware of. Like any home business, you’ll need to put your nose to grindstone and learn how to market it. It’s no different than if you were opening a new restaurant or franchise, except your start-up cost and overhead are MUCH LOWER! While starting by marketing to your warm market is the industry standard marketing training and it will help to get you started, that approach will not make you rich or even build you a sustainable and profitable business. I would like to begin this review by first saying that I am not affiliated with World Ventures in anyway and never have been so you can feel comfortable in knowing that what you read is a completely honest and unbiased review of the World Ventures network marketing business opportunity.

Travel is a very popular business, with over $8 Trillion being spent on it world-wide every year. For this reason, home-based businesses in the travel niche are also very popular and World Ventures is one of the more popular of those companies.

When you join, you become an LTC (Leisure Travel Consultant). You are in effect becoming an online internet travel agent, competing with the likes of Travelocity, Expedia, and Orbitz.

The cost to join World Ventures is $199 upfront and $24.95 per month. You are basically becoming an online travel agent. Your primary differentiating products are “Dream Trips” – exclusive vacation packages – and World Ventures expects to be offering over 200 this year.

The World Ventures Management Team

World Ventures was founded by Wayne Nugent and Mike Azcue in Plano, Texas and officially launched December 10, 2005. This longevity is a very good sign for anyone looking to join World Ventures. Network Marketing businesses come and go, with the vast majority having a very short shelf-life. World Ventures maintains office space in Plano and employs a corporate staff has over 165 people. At least you know that this is a real business and not being run out of somebody’s bedroom!

Can I Make Money If I Join World Ventures?

This is where it gets a little foggy for me. I mean, of course you can because people are but I want to let you know if the average network marketer can make money with World Ventures.

First of all, the travel industry has undergone a major overhaul over the past few years of how travel is booked. While you used to book your trips through travel agents, most of us book online now. The commissions that travel agents receive have been virtually eliminated as their margins have been made very thin. You are basically looking at a 10% profit margin on booked-travel, and this EXCLUDES airfare as the airlines no longer pay commissions. Bottom line…you will need to book a lot of travel to make decent money.

But, let’s take a look at selling the business opportunity. That’s what you are looking for as a network marketer anyway (I’m sure there are better companies if you just want to be a travel agent!)!

The World Ventures compensation plan is based on the binary compensation model, like a majority of MLM companies. Those of you who know me know that I do not like the traditional MLM compensation model because most network marketers can not recruit enough people to be successful. This is because they are unable to generate enough targeted network marketing leads to make sales. Assuming that you can, you can definitely make money with this compensation plan.

Conclusion

In my opinion, World Ventures offers a legitimate home-based business opportunity with real products and training. This company is not a scam and leadership looks strong and has a long-term vision. The compensation plan model is not my favorite as it really requires you to recruit a lot of people to your team to be successful. I prefer businesses that provide you with “NOW” income rather than building a business for possible income 3-5 years down the road.

Is Daegan Smith And Maximum Leverage A Scam?

After my research, I have to answer that question with a resounding “NO”! As with any internet marketing “Guru”, you will see a ton of negative press. It’s no different with Daegan Smith. I am not a member of his Inner Circle, but am investigating it for myself, so I thought I would provide you with a thorough and unbiased review of my findings regarding Daegan Smith and Maximum Leverage to determine if it’s another internet scam or worth investing in.

What Is Maximum Leverage?

Daegan Smith’s Maximum Leverage is an internet marketing training site for network marketers that he launched back in October 2009. His membership has been growing, with very few drop-outs, which is a positive sign.

He also shows a lot of video proof of his success, which indicates that he’s being honest about his success. He’s been an online marketer for 6 years and has made enough money working online to recently relocate to Maui from the Washington, DC area. I have to admit I’m jealous but being able to relocate to Maui is a good goal for the rest of us!

Maximum Leverage is all about teaching internet network marketers how to generate leads. Internet marketing is all about generating leads and there are many sites and systems that teach and help network marketers to do this.

What makes Daegan Smith’s Maximum Leverage Different?

My answer to this question is Deagan’s presentation style, which is very down to earth and easy to follow, along with his transparency with his business. I have attended a few webinars that he’s put on for free and always walk away learning something new. Daegan opens up his business and shows attendees exactly how he generates leads (and he generates a lot of them!). This makes following along and understanding how to implement a new strategy very easy. The value provided, especially for free, is ridiculous.

Can I Really Make Money With Pre Paid Legal?

At a meager cost of just $49 to start your business, can a would-be entrepreneur really make any decent coin? Good question. For each legal plan that you sell (which costs $26), you will typically receive $52 PPL pays commissions 1 year in advance like insurance companies, assuming that customers will not drop out. If they do, you will charged back for commissions earned. So, at $52 a sale you better sell a lot, right!

Building A Team With Pre Paid Legal

Besides just selling legal services plans, you can also build a multi-level marketing team with Pre Paid Legal. This will allow you to leverage your time and efforts and is a much better strategy for making money with Pre Paid Legal in my opinion. You recruit other network marketers to work under you in your “downline” and you have the ability to earn off of them. Because Pre Paid Legal is not a scam, you only earn when members of your team sell products (similar to an “override” in corporate sales jargon). The corporate website gives an example that if you had 30 downline members selling 1 plan per week, you would earn $975 per week. This is an over $50,000 annual income from a $49 investment to start your business. Not bad!

Is It Easy To Recruit Others To Pre Paid Legal?

Well, we’ve concluded through our research that Pre Paid Legal is a legitimate home based business opportunity and not a scam. But, if you plan to make money with Pre Paid Legal, you really need to understand the specific marketing strategies that have been proven to be successful in network marketing/MLM. The old school methods of trying to recruit your friends and family into your new business (something most people do not like to do so they don’t) do not work anymore. It is imperative for any would-be marketer of PPL to learn how to market their business online.

Dani Johnson has been training aspiring MLM distributors for years, has been a million dollar distributor herself, and now has an extremely successful multi-million dollar consulting, speaking and training business.

I have never personally attended any of her speaking engagements but, from everything I have read and the testimonials I have watched, the ENERGY is incredible and her students leave with a sense of excitement, hope, and new found knowledge. Some of that knowledge involves learning scripted “call-guides” on how to speak to and recruit MLM leads and turn them into distributors. What we all need to know how to do, right! Well, sort of…I will explain in a bit.

It should come as no surprise that she also has developed and sells many of her own products in addition to a motivational and MLM lead generation and business building membership site called Call to Freedom International (CFI). Her products include scripts and mostly other “offline” marketing strategies. There is also a religious overtone to her website and training, from my understanding which is cool with me. All indications are that Dani Johnson’s training is top-notch.

While learning how to speak with prospects to help turn them into distributors in your MLM business was very important, it is no longer a requirement to building a massively successful MLM or Network Marketing business. Not with the explosion of internet marketing. Now, you can not only generate all of the laser targeted network marketing leads that you could ever want but, with auto-responders, catchy lead capture pages, attraction marketing and other cutting edge online marketing tactics…you can also turn those leads into paying distributors in YOUR business virtually on auto-pilot!

The XOWII Company

XOWii is a relatively new MLM company, based in Costa Mesa, CA, in the nutritional/juice niche. A VERY competitive niche in the network marketing industry to say the least. The leadership of the company – a very important factor in the success or failure of any company – appears to be strong. Both Richard Kelly and Jim Christiansen are long-time entrepreneurs with successful track records. This bodes well for the future longevity of the company overall.

The XOWii Products

The flagship products of XOWii are XOWii Energy, XOWii Ultimate, & XOWii Thin. All 3 products contain the company’s flagship ingredient, the “KonaRed Coffee Cherry“. The KonaRed Coffee Cherry, and thereby all of the products, are said to promote weightloss, produce energy, and provide vitamins and antioxidants. Honestly, who knows if anything of this is true? It definitely sounds great and probably does provide the user with positive health benefits. Call me cynical but I just take any of the claims about MLM products with a grain of salt. I believe that they are all good but whether or not they do everything they say…

This is not a knock at all at XOWii’s products. I am giving you my overall view of MLM products! What I, and you, are really interested in is NOT how you will live to be 120 if you drink KonaRed Coffee Cherry juice, but “Can You Make Any Money As A XOWii Distributor”? Let’s see…

The XOWii Compensation Plan/Business Opportunity

Like the majority of MLMs that have popped up in the past 10 years, XOWii’s compensation plan is a Binary. Not my favorite compensation plan but there are many people making fortunes from this comp plan. A Binary basically means that you have 2 legs and you will receive commissions based on the productivity of your “weakest” leg. Here’s an illustration of how a binary works:

Can You Make Money With XOWii?

Of course you can! There are many XOWii distributors right now who are making literal fortunes promoting the business opportunity. Oh, by the way, don’t think that you are becoming a juice salesman if you join. You are selling a home based business opportunity. I think many people lose site of that fact and that contributes to failure!

One thing that I do not like is the training provided is very limited. You are given a replicated website (like with every MLM) and basically instructed to contact and recruit your warm market – family, friends, neighbors, pets – until nobody will talk to you anymore! Then WHAT?? And, this is not a knock on XOWii. Most network marketing companies (and sponsors for that matter) do not train their distributors how to market their new business for optimum success.
